The Politico

So smooth! Never brash! How they doted!
A saint! All his speeches were quoted,
His words lubricated
With promises stated
And remembered--til after they'd voted.

Our three words were: Brash, Saint, Lubricate

  1. Lovely little bit of "bite"! A clever and jolly way to have a dig at all those political agendas!

  3. You nailed this one! Nice use of the prompts. I noticed the ommission of "saint". Maybe...that's because most politicos aren't saints. Ha! BTW, missed you on SS this week.

  4. Very interesting take on the words - and there's a sharp truth to them.

  5. The 3 words were used well! Sharp rhythm and rhyme too. I was half-expecting to read a final punchline after "voted" - but it ends well there too on a second read. (Maybe I've been reading too many limericks!) Everyone can relate to this.

  10. Very apt in today's times here in my country where candidates are too busy trying to be saintly and trying to lubricate with positive promises all their speeches!

I could only smile...Unique use of the prompt!
