Dangle, Labor, Neatly

He dangled against a dull sky,
Sprawled neatly, as light as a sigh--
Such ardent achieving
Laborious weaving,
for the catching of one careless fly

  1. Each morning I am greeted in the garden with the web of a Golden Orb spider. They are huge, both the web and the spider and her nighttime labor stretches across the garden path. Usually I am wary and duck under but often I am caught and struggle free before I am wrapped up and stored away for later consumption. Loved the poem!

  3. Well done. It is no mean feat getting the three words into a limerick!

  4. Very nice.
I had to read it twice
    To notice it was
    A Limerick.

But I still don't like spiders!

    Cheers!

  5. Very well done. I especially liked "as lightly as a sigh". I had an Orb spider on my deck the other day that fit this piece perfectly.

  6. I'm much too lazy to survive as a spider. Love the line "light as a sigh" !
